What strings do you use?

I know this has been asked t detah but oh well im curious

Electric - Ernieball skinny top heavy bottoms .10-.52

Acoustics - D'addario EJ15 extra light

im thinking of going custom light so the gauge is closer to that of electric. I cant play with super thick strings.

Jackson = D'addario 10-46 in E and drop D.

Schecter = Ernie Ball 11-54 in D and drop C.

Fender Strat, Gibson SG and Ibanez RG: Ernie Ball customized: 9, 11, 14, 22, 32, 38. Ordinary tuning.

DR Tite-Fit 12-52 in standard, custom guage DR sets for lower tunings

i use dr pure blues 11's on most electrics, tite fit 11's on a washburn maverick, high beam 10's on the tele and martin sp 13's on the acoustics

DR Pure Blues 10's on every guitar except the Jem (see avatar), which is Tite Fit 9's. DR doesn't make Pure Blues in 9's yet ...

Either Med (11-52) or LT HB (10-52) roght now I'm going back and forth between Blue Steel and various nickle wound strings...Sometimes I use a .054 for the low E. It seems I like the tone of nickle better but Steel lasts longer. Sometimes I use a set guaged 12, 16, 20p, 38, 48, 60 and tune it to C or B for real twangy baritone type clean parts, and when I'm really feeling crazy (and want to work on not being so sloppy) I use a set guaged 8, 10, 12, 20, 30, 40 and tune to C or B and try like hell to play real tight! BTW it's real hard to do, but it's fun to try! :laugh2:

Strat 2 - GHS Boomers 13-70 in drop C

D`Addario .009-.042 with Strat in standard tuning.

D`Addario .0095-.044 with Strat tuned 1/2 step down.

D'Addario's 10-46 on the LP and light bronze Martins or D'ddario's (my acoustic is in a natrual wood finish, no varnish, so the lighter strings let the highs ring out a little better).

Huh , and I thought I`d be the only one to use that set . Do you have any luck finding that set at local music stores? I have to order mine through MF.

I generally use 10-46 Dean Markleys on all my electric Guitars, and various makes of 12's on my acoustic. I have less preference with Acoustic strings, and haven't yet found a brand that I will stay 'loyal' to like I have with my electric strings.

I am contemplating going upto 11-52 on my electrics, but thats just an idea
