Currently, I play in a female fronted trip-hop group. I call our style "ambient groove" We get a lot of comparisons to Portishead, and people mainly describe our music as "sexy"

How do other people describe YOUR band or style? :)

My style is mainly derived from two sources, classical technique and theory behind metal rhythms and concepts.

Melodic rock pretty much. I'm drawn to anything with good singing (no screaming) and good riffs so it's no surprise I look to play stuff that's catchy over technical.

A couple years ago I woke up one morning and kind of realized I needed to stop patsying around and really start playing the Blues. Everything else was alot of fun, but it was time to settle down with a style.

I sold my 7 strings and modeling amps. I unloaded most of my rack gear and bought a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue.

I didn't think I could be this happy....

i play mostly metal and punk but have been know to fake some blues with a bit of a heavy edge now and again.

i am playing in a band that does originals. we write our own stuff and somehow i can't put a finger as to how to classify it. my style of playing includes metal, hard/classic rock, funk, blues, alternative and some others. basically, its just a fusion of the styles in this poll. fwiw, i always try to keep things simple.

Hmm why did all the metal players have an age under 30. And all bluesy guys over 30? lol.

I love blues and dont get me wrong I branch out into a lot of different stuff, I consider myself a very versatile player compared to others. But it just amazes me we have no old-metal heads...

Hmmmmm... My current band is really shizophrenic... There is a weekly push pull match over the format were gonna play... We do some punk covers of pop songs... some alternative and indie sounding stuff... The other guitarist though always writes these orginals that sound like Opeth on ludes stuck on repeat...

Think Nirvana meets Leftover Crack meets N.W.A. with some Beatles wannabe moments and a heaping spoonful of Agoraphobic Nosebleed.

we keep the basslines funky and the beat solid. oh and Sublime, we're kinda like them.
