What to Use?

Hi all,
I have a Warmoth body(maple/Alder) with a humbucker bridge route and a single coil neck route.
P-94 in the bridge, SD quarter pounder strat in the neck. meh.
Bridge is ok, but not with the neck.
Neck on its' own, not great.
Looking for suggestions.
Want kind of a rude neck to go along with p-94.
Might want to change both, but have most bases covered with other guitars.
I play a variety of music so not locked into any particular style.

Re: What to Use?

ive never loved a qp in the neck, in the bridge it can sound great.

are you using 500k pots? id suggest an ssl6 custom flat. its hard to get a neck pup to sound very rude due to the position having so much string movement, the ssl6 is fat and sounds great in the neck with 500k pots. might be a little dark with 250k but if you like the p94 with 250k then you might like the ssl6 with 250k too

Re: What to Use?

Seymour Duncan describes the Pearly Gates as "sweet but slightly rude" and I completely agree. However, to get one in single coil size you'd have to go the custom shop route. I agree with Jeremy, kinda hard to get the rude sound from the neck position.

For Alder+Maple, I really like the JB with Hotrails; however, if you don't like the QP then I don't think you will like the Hotrails either... I've never cared for P90s in the bridge, love them in the necks–so I will let other forum bros chime in. Very interesting issue and I look forward to following the responses here.
