What type of fuzz do you use?

I'm just curious as to what fuzz pedals everyone is using, and what types of tones they're getting. I've been listening to a ton of OD clips the last couple of weeks and I think I've realized a fuzz is what I really want :smack: Any advice for some mellow/non-muddy fuzz ala hendrix-bold as love?

I have a Duncan Tweak Fuzz that will do just about any kind of fuzz tone.

I also love my Fulltone 69 for those Hendrix tones...sounds just like Jimi's best Fuzz Face.

And the EH Big Muff is a classic for smooth saturated fuzz tone.

Im almost on the same page with Lew...go figure!:smack:

I have a Tweak Fuzz on my pedal board right now due to the versitility.

I also have a Roger Meyer Axis Fuzz that I love for a Jimi vibe.

And, I also have my Big Muff for super saturation...

That said I really want to get a Fulltone Ultimate Octave!

For more cash, the Analongman Sunlion is supposed to be excellent.

I don't own one, but I want one. Thinking seriously about the Tweakfuzz.

The analogman Sunface is a Fuzz Fce clone and a damn good one but it is pricy and there is a fair wait to get it. The Tweak Fuzz is a great sounding unit with loads if different tones at the twist of a knob and for the cost, IMO, it's the best fuzz on the market right now.

Actually, I had a really weird dream last night:

Dreamed I went into a music store to try out (get this!) : a fuzz tone!

But I went in half naked and shirtless...

So this big black guy who looked like a combination of Randy on American Idol and Mr. T took me in the back where they had this weird new fuzz tone with antenae sticking out of every side and asked me: what does this look like?

I said: some kind of Nady Wireless device.

He said: that's right.

Then he handed me a guitar and asked me to play something.

I hit a couple of notes and then held a note and added a really good sounding finger vibrato.

Randy/Mr T said: OH....OK, you're cool.

And he smiled and left the room and trusted me to check out whatever I wanted...even though I looked weird and was half naked. :smack:

Well...I think it had something to do with showing him who I really was with one good note! :laugh2: I mean, he did look alot like Randy on American Idol...

It seems pretty easy to understand to me...Lew needs to stop drinking heavily before going to sleep! :laugh2:

Maybe it was a Rocky Mountain High. :D

Anyway . . . I like the mild fuzz thats built into my Yamaha FX500 effects unit, but for real chunky distortion, its hard to beat my John Spina modified DS-1.

i dont have any od pedals atm, but ive been wanting to get the fulltone OCD for a very long time. i also am patiently awaiting news on the sd twin tube classic distortion. if its as good as the p'up booster ill probably save up for one. it sounds a bit expensive.

For Hendrix, In my opinion i don't think you can get much closer than the Fulltone '69... sounds alot like hendrix's did.

I love my Danoelectro Fab Tone's.... i have 2 of them! They are over the top fuzz.... too fuzzy for some people, but for solos i love them! Wish more pedals had the Dano's deep bass EQ sounds.... Turns my C30 into a rageing stack sound!!!!!

As far as fuzz pedals go I have a Russian Big Muff and an EMMA ReezaFRATzitz.

The ReezaFRATzitz has the better tone of the 2, but the Big Muff is there for when I want insane amounts of filth :D

Any fuzz I can get my hands on! Right now I am using the fuzz side of my Diamond Pedals and a Big muff. But I really want a Fuzz Factory to go with these.
