What type of neck??

I'm putting together a guitar and the body is solid maple. The neck they suggest is mahogany. I'm thinking to keep the maple going and get a hard rock maple neck. Anyone can give me a second opinion? :rolleyes:

(Note- I have a SD 59 neck and a SD Alcino 2 bridge going into it)

I think it'd be aweful brite with all that maple in it.

If briteness is what you're after, it'd be a good choice.

If you're after a smoother tone though......
