Re: What type string do u guys use on ur Strats?
I use pure nickle strings once I have my guitar all situated with new pickups, hardware, ect. I have been using Snake Oil strings for years now and I love them, especially on strats. It makes them sound a bit warmer, but still with that chime. They also last 3-4 times longer than any string I've found....they never get gunky or rusty.
I use SOB's rock formula for my LP's and other non-strat guitars. My favorite set is 9-46. I don't like the feel of thick unwound strings, but I like the chunk of heaver wound strings. SOB will make any set you want, any size, and will sell individual strings as well. I always buy a few extra E,B and G strings in case of breakage.
I always keep a 10 pack or so of EB Hybrid Slinky's around for when I'm messing with pickups or other hardware that might require me to change strings a couple of times. They aren't bad strings, I just prefer the SOB's better.
