What wiring diagram are you using to tap a Telecaster Quarter Pound? QP 2 or 3 wire?

I want to install quarter pound set into my tele. The pick shows 2 wires but I have seen pics with 3 wires. First of all, which is it? 2 or 3 wire?

if you have the tapped qp then youll have three wires, if you have a "normal" qp then youll have two wires.

the normal qp tele lead is around 17k and has two wires, hot and ground. the tapped qp lead has two hot leads, one at 8.5k and one at 17k as well as the ground.
