What would happen if i connected the high and low inputs?

I have a 79 Marshall master volume JMP head and i was wondering what would happen if i used an a/b box or something to plug into both inputs at the same time. Is this safe to do? How would it sound?

My 2203 doesnt work well that way. I tried it and I didn't like what happened to the tone.

You cant hurt the amp by trying it out though.
