What would maple capped alder sound like?

Hey, I was wondering about his one earlier.

Any idea what alder with a 3/4" / 5/8" solid maple cap would sound like?

Could it be nice?

Re: What would maple capped alder sound like?

I have a PRS CE with an alder body and maple top. Maple/alder is the shizzle for high gain tones as well as sparkley cleans. Under gain, the snappy tone helps avoid muddiness.

I think it's probably better for humbuckers rather than single coils 'cause the maple cap's added brightness might make things ice picky.

My Jackson is Alder/Maple, very snappy and articulate, I love it for highgain tones, but I also love my mohogany Schecter. Just put pickups in that compliment it. If I had an 81 in my Jackson, it would be bright as hell and ice picky.
