Whats the darkest pickup that SD makes?

I Know ive posted something similar to this before =). But for the bridge position, what has the most powerful and dark sound to it? I was thinking the invaders, as lots of reviews seem to dub them as dark...

Im pretty positive im goin with the jazz pickup in the bridge of my guitar as I do lots of articulate picking as well. However, I want some good output full and dark sound (brittle and trebly is ok) for the bridge. My only dissappointment with the invaders though is they are only black, and I was kinda wanting a red pickup =).

This is gonna be for a gibson les paul gothic guitar, which has been re-equipped with a tone pros bridge. The stock pickups leave something to be desired though.

Also, ive probably asked this before, but the pots that come with the guitar, are they compatable with the SD pickups, or will I absolutley have to get the 500k pots? If so, is this something I can go down to guitar center to re equip them with?

I think you can custom order an Invader in any color you want, exept double creme :smack:

Damn F'in DeMazios!!!

The Metal Livewire is the darkest pickup we make. The Invader is the darkest passive pickup. Hot Rails is the darkest Strat pickup.

A comment on the hot rails: with a strat with a maple neck (both have very bright qualities) the darkness of the hot rails makes a perfect happy medium. I just go crazy for that Dave Murray creamy neck hotrail solo tone.....

Re: Whats the darkest pickup that SD makes?

I just spoke with someone at gibson tech, and they said I have a 300k Linear for my volume knobs and 500k audio for my tone knobs. Shouldnt that be sufficient?

Re: Whats the darkest pickup that SD makes?

you'll get the full potential of your humbucker if you use 500k pots. While less is sufficient, output, and high end will suffer

Re: Whats the darkest pickup that SD makes?

youre gonna put 2 pickups in the bridge position? i dig your style

I got a PATB-1 Axis Trembucker, and i must say, that this is the darkest pickup i ever herad! It has a lot of bass, but less highs - sounds like you turn back the tone knob!
