whats the diff btw the SH-4 and the TB-4?

Re: whats the diff btw the SH-4 and the TB-4?

The SH-4 has regular polepiece spacing and the TB-4 is trem-spaced (for guitars with tremelo bridges, which have a wider string spacing at the bridge).

yup what Austin said. Both are JBs but with different pole piece spacing

Although the TB's are called Trembuckers, alot of people mistaken then for PATBs. I;ve had lots of ppl ask me if PATB is the same as the TB pickups.

Yup, it'll be fine, im using a normal spaced on in my jackson w/ floyd as well.
basically u wont be able to hear the difference. It'll just look like the high and lw E strings are not aligned with the pole pieces thats all.

still sounds as fantastic as ever.
enjoy ur JB. I love mine

Re: whats the diff btw the SH-4 and the TB-4?

That 1/8th" sounds like a significant difference but keep in mind that's only a 1/16" offset at each E string. So like the guys already said, it's nothing to sweat over.

I have no problems with my SH-4 on my Ibanez RG, trem equipped.

Enjoy. :D

Anyone ever notice how many Floyd guitars come fitted stock from the factory with a regular spaced humbucker, not a Trem spaced?

Just bought a regular spaced Custom 5 for my Floyd Strat, I was a bit worried with the spacing, then I noticed that the stock humbucker is in a fact regular spaced as well.

I have a couple of TOM bridge guitars that came stock with trem-spaced pickups at the bridge! What ever they happened to have on hand...

BTW, +1 that you usually can't hear a difference. It's known to happen but only rarely.
