What's the massive E-chord in "I'll be there for you"

Buddy of mine wants to learn this for his wife. I know most of it except the "E" chord from memory.

I don't have a copy to listen to and I refuse to buy something I won't listen to.

I can't pick it out by ear. Some website transcriptions I've looked up say it's an F, but it doesn't feel right according to my memory of the tune. Last time I heard it I thought it was an E. Since I'm not listening to it, I can't tell what it's supposed to be. What sounds OK to me might not be right. I thought I'd defer to others who may know it already.

I think the song is tuned down a half step and it's an E minor. It's been a long time since I've played that song.

You could try it this way - gets pretty big sounding:

E---------------
B-----------5--- (E)
G---------4----- (B)
D-------2------- (E)
A-------2------- (B)
E---0----------- (E)

Don't play the high "E" String. This is basically a two-octave Eb. A more proggy version could be this:

G------------9--- (E)
D------------9--- (B)
A--------7------- (E)
E--------7------- (B)

Your Basic E5 with an added lower B
