What's with the polarity of a Phat Cat in a HSS Strat?

Hey,

So I've got a strat with an Alnico 2 Pro, RWRP 5-2 and Phat Cat in the bridge. The A2P and the 5-2 are hum-cancelling when together, but the Phat Cat isn't hum-cancelling and is out of phase with both of them. It sounds alot weaker when I wire the A2P with the Phat cat, but both are definitely not hum-cancelling or in phase.

What's the deal?

I think the bridge is south. But have you tried reversing the leads? I'd be more inclined to try it on the other two instead of the Phat Cat since you have to have the braided metal wire grounded.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAnd I'm officially in the short-bus club.

I'm so used to wiring humbuckers that I used the black leads from the SCs as their hots. DUH.
