What's wrong with meeee...? New pedal chain order advise?

In my search for a distortion pedal I ended up getting a Marshall compressor and I just won a MI Audio Boost N Buff on ebay.

DOH.

Credit card away for... life :drill:

On another hand it means I can use the Bad Monkey as a smooth gain pedal, the Boost N Buff is a buffer/cleanboost/treble boost so it'll go first in chain...and I think I'll be able to COMPLETELY rechange my chain...

I got:

CM Plexitone
Digitech Bad Monkey
Modded SD1 (OD pedal, not boost)
MI Audio Boost N Buff
EH Big Muff (TB)
EH Small Stone Phaser (TB)
Marshall Compressor (I THINK TB...)

Any help or yelling at me is good! And I promise I'll stop. With the Duncan Jazz I seem to have unlocked the Plexitone's secret. It likes lower output pickups a little better. The pedal now has an absolutely beautiful lead tone, especially when boosted by the Bad Monkey!

I would go
amp < distortion < phaser < compressor < guitar

With so many gain-based pedals, you could either hook up just 1 or 2 at a time, or you could throw them into the chain in an alternating pattern for the most tone options:
amp < Plexitone < Muff < SD-1 < Stone < Bad Monkey < Compressor < Boost N Buff < guitar

just an example

Re: What's wrong with meeee...? New pedal chain order advise?

Good idea about the SD1 placement.

Wouldn't it be better to put the compressor first, as I do intend to use the booster with clean tones on which I use the compressor most of the time. With the boost before the compressor it'd just boost it and not my clean sound directly...

So I think I'd go compressor/boost/BM/stone/BadMonkey/Muff/Plexitone. Thanks!

Yeah, you could just choose the specific order after messing around with different setups over time. With pedals like those, you can experiment with the order without limits.

So many options. I like the boost late in the chain, so it doesn't boost other gain pedals, only the amp.
