If i can´t earn money and buy a tube head...
i´m thinking i could buy a Good distortion pedal or a POD XT
AND Use with a clean channel ONly tube head(should i call it a POWER?)
more a 2x12or 4x12?!?!?

will it be cheaper?

also... which valve config do you recomend for solid and TIGHT bass, lots of crunchy mids and warm and articulated highs?!?!

A THD Univalve will do the trick. Then you can pick the tube combo you like the best.

Running an FX pedal like a Boss GT-8 or a Pod XT into a power amp is a great idea. Seeing as the pedal itself acts as a preamp, you dont need to run it through another preamp in an amp head! It is the same as running the pedal into the 'power amp in' of a normal head.

You will get a much clearer signal this way and really get the most out of your pedal!

Hey JP... I run my GT-6 into a Peavey solid state head (into the FX return, so it goes straight to the power section) and the Dual Recto model sounded VERY comparable to a real Dual Recto.

if you buy a modeler, it really wants to see a power amp with no coloration, so just go with a SS power amp...it sounds awesome.

Mincer is right, but I want a bit of coloration, so I run my GT-8 into a Mesa 50:50 power amp and a Marshall 2x12 cab and a Vox 2x12 cab in stereo.

It sounds great for pretty much any sound.

I've also used a Peavey CS200 power amp with good results.

For metal and heavy rock, I use the Dual Recto model, the Hughes & Kettner Triamp lead channel, and the Soldano SLO.

The Dual Recto sounds like a gained up Recto (duh ), the SLO is cool for leads and bright, crunchy rythm, and the H&K has a really cool hot Marshall vibe that has tight lows and a lot of crunchy mids.

Thats the EL-34 sound basically. You need something Marshall-esque. You can pick up the DSL50 for not much these days around here, I dont know what the prices are like around you though.
