When doing fretwork on fender necks, do you always build in some fallaway?

at the upper frets? Or do you just go level across all the frets, string it up first and then see if it might need some fallaway?

i dont usually build it in unless i know im going to need it

I don't. Not even on acoustic guitars. But some guys think it's absolutely necessary, or think they have to follow rigid tradition.
