O.K......here is an easy example of a cool pentatonic concept or plurality ...when an Em7 chord is played, trying playing B minor pentatonic ( spelled B, D, E, F#, A ). This bring out the 5th, 7th, Root, 9th and 11th against the Em7 harmony. Just think playing a minor pentatonic up a 5th from the minor seventh chord given. This will give you more color against the chord. Hopefully that will help you out and give you some new musical areas to explore. :)
