when will Marshall offer new gear?

Re: when will Marshall offer new gear?

I wonder if Mitch is gonna come back with something to say...

Just so you all know, the 800 is still in production as a RI. Came back a couple years ago.

about right, EL84s are hardly the marshall sound

Actually, the 18 Watters sound remarakably like a Marshall. I have a clone I built from a converted Bogen PA amp, and after everything I did to screw that amp up (intentionally and unintentionally), it came up sounding like a Marshall first time. Amazing testimony to a simple, robust design.

The DSL201 may indeed have sounded like mung, but it's not the EL84's fault. As I've said, I'd love to see a mass-produced 18 Watter at the DSL201's price point, maybe with an extra 12AX7 & full tone stack, more like a JCM800 front end. Personally, I wouldn't care if it was single-channel, but others might want channel switching.

I know that. But I'd rather pay $700-$900 for an original one than pay $1999 plus tax for a new reissue.

Note: Price comparisons came from eBay and Musician's Friend, respectively.

Re: when will Marshall offer new gear?

So is Mitch gonna come back and give us his views/opinions/lowdown on the amps and respond to our rebuttals or is he back at Korg talking to Marshall about possible new stuff?

...or maybe he just ran away... :newangel:
