Where can you buy guitar paint?

I'm looking to buy some white glossy paint for my project guitar I'm starting soon. What kind of paint do I need exactly and can I get it at any local stores? I'd rather just be able to go out and buy it than have to get it online. I'll need some clear lacquer, too, correct?

The only white on reranch that I can find is olympic white. I always thought that was a little different than plain white. More of a cream color like Hendrix's strat in my avatar. I definately am going for a white and not a cream color. But I'll probably get some lacquer off there.

Well, the example box on ReRanch looks pretty white. The other thing to remember is that most lacquers yellow over time, hence those old yellow Fender necks. Supposedly "water white" lacquer doesn't yellow. If you spray clear over white, in time, it will yellow (a lot of time that is, years or decades). I personally would stay away from auto finishes or polyurethanes, they are a lot heavier and thicker and the conventional thinking is that they don't allow the wood to resonate like a nice thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish does. I used dyes under nitro on the two I built and it worked great, but the place I ordered from doesn't make a white dye. Check a paint store for NGR (non-grain raising) dye. The bet advice I can give is get a piece of similarly colored scrap wood and test first.
