I was wondering if anyone knows where to find alnico 2, alnico 5, and ceramic magnets for modding pickups and how much they would cost. I thank anyone and everyone for their help.

Steven Kersting sells them at www.ampge.com, $5 each. I'm not sure if he's in town at the moment though, he's a helicopter pilot instructor in the army, and he's usually gone for a while this time of year. Torres engineering sells A2 and A5 magnets as well.

What would be the measurements for a trembucker spaced pickup? I dont know which one to order. I have a c5 and want a little more mids but like the bass of the pickup.

Go with the A4 magnet. As for the measurements, I'm not sure, you'd have to remove the magnet you have in there now and measure it. Duncan humbuckers and trembuckers both use the same sized magnets.
Anyone know how much it costs to order from this place? I'm wondering if you need to place a huge order to get a decent price. Sometimes these places cater to large orders, rather than people like us who just want a magnet or two. I once found a site that had every type of potentiometer you could imagine, and they would also make you anything you wanted. When I asked about getting some push/pull pots, I was quoted $270 for five of them. Has anyone ordered magnets from these guys?

They were made of better quality materials, and had a stricter tolerance than the cheap ones most guitar parts resellers stock. What's amazing is that these weren't even a custom order. Obviously, I didn't buy them, but that's how it goes with these type of places sometimes. If you're not buying in massive quantities, you may have to pay a lot more.

This guy didnt answer my e-mails....and he doesnt sell ceramic magnets...at least he has them crossed of in the excel spreadsheet he wants you to use.
I was also trying to get the balck tape...1/2 and 1/4 inch. He crossed them off the list as well. :smack:

He's even sent me screws when I didn't have the proper kind of screws to match a pickup I bought from him. Try emailing him in a few days, he said he's getting back from military duty around August 15, and he's probabally swamped with all the emails he's accumulated over the past month away.
