Where to put the TU-2

I got a few new pedals this week. The Boss TU-2, BBE Sonic Stomp and MXR R173 Fuzz. All are great pedals. My question is that I have the TU-2 in front of the Twin Tube Classic and I'm not sure it likes it being there. Is there another spot in the chain I can put it? Here is my chain.

Guitar
Tu-2
Twin Tube Classic
Vox V847 wah
MXR fuzz
Marshal Reverb
Digitech MultiChorus " want to replace this one "
BBE Sonic Stomp
Marshall 50w Split Channel Reverb

Should I start looping a few of these? I'm thinking that TTC likes to be the first in the chain being it a Preamp unit. Would it be okay to put the TU-2 before the BBE?

Thx for any advice.

Re: Where to put the TU-2

i like the tu-2 pedal last in my chain .. it is the only buffered pedal i have and having it before the amp seems to let all the other pedals (including TTC) 'breathe' a bit more ... not sure what the BBE does ... probably not a problem to try it after the tu2 and see how you like it .. i have my wah before my TTC

Re: Where to put the TU-2

Mine's last in the chain. Doesn't affect tone in any way, and it'll kill the whole signal for when I need quiet between songs.

Re: Where to put the TU-2

My new simplified board includes:

TU-2
Teese Wah
Vintage Rat
Deluxe Memory Man
Verbzilla

Would you guys who use the TU-2 last put it after the true bypass Memory Man or before?

Re: Where to put the TU-2

That's an excellent idea

Yeah it's the best route when playing gigs. I can stomp on it when we need quiet, or when I change guitars between songs. I used to have a noise gate but it coloured the tone a little so it's gone now.

That'z what I was thinking but wasn't sure if the TU-2 only goes first. So I'll try it before or after the BBE. When I first got the TTC, I tried the wah before it and it didn't seem right, I'll give it another go around. The MXR and the VOX doesn't seem to like each other either. Also... on the MXR with the buffer off, the TTC doesn't respond and have the play with the TTC off. Works only with the buffer on. This is why I hate changing things around I always have the worst luck. Anyways, thx all for the advice.

Cheers,

Re: Where to put the TU-2

I am with t4d...I have mine last....some OD pedals don't care for the buffered signal going into them.

Re: Where to put the TU-2

I put it last, as others have mentioned that's a great spot for the buffer and it's a handy mute button.

Depends on whether you mute your signal after each song or not using the tuner. If you do, then put it before the DMM so the trailing repeats are not cut off. If you don't, then it really doesn't matter.

I don't use a TU-2 but my tuner goes last in the chain. Real simple setup too. Crybaby Wah, Phase 90, A/B box to switch to acoustic preamp, tuner.

Re: Where to put the TU-2

I always put mine first, but after reading some replies here I'm thinking about putting it last and seeing if it does anything good for the tone.

Re: Where to put the TU-2

Don't have a TU-2, but I am in the school of thought that the tuner pedal should be last in the chain. That way it kills any noise your pedals might be making.

Re: Where to put the TU-2

I never thought of putting it right before the amp as a mute. I've just always put it as the first pedal into the wah.

Thanks for the tip.
