which 15 watter all tube should i get

Guys i'm confused about what to get, i play mostly classic and alternative,my main axe is LP with jazz/jb and Mustang with Dimarzio's cruiser neck and fast track.i am going to throw a bunch of stomp boxes in front so thats a consideration.My choices are
1.Fender blonde blues junior
2.Crate V16
3.The new epiphone 15 watt???


Please advice, as i'm sick of carrying my AD50T every weekend

My alternative was a Pro Junior with stompboxes in front, it's as simple as it gets... and from there I can use a stompbox if I want to expand. So number 4 for me please ;)

Among the ones you have there 1 or 2, would be my choice. No use of the DSP effects in the Epiphone you're gonna use stompboxes for versality, so you have less parts that can break.

And I somehow feel that the the Blues Jr. and the Crate holds a little higher quality (I might be wrong though). Also the Blues Jr. is a very nice amp for the money, that's why it's as popular as it is today. Plus that there are these mods that are said to be amazing that can be done to it (haven't tried them myself though)... you may have heard of the Billm mods :D

The only problem that you might run into with an amp that's only 15 watts is clean headroom. If you want to use a bunch of pedals you won't get band level clean volume with a small 15 watt amp.

I agree with GuitarStv. You can use a 15 watt amp with a band, but you won't get much clean headroom if ya need to turn it up.

And I wanna put my vote with the blues Jr. or the crate.

Check out the Crate VC2112R if you come across one. Used low $200 and they smoke. Check the new Peavey Windsor Studio too if you can find one.

I have the Epiphone Valve Standard. The DSP can be completely bypassed although I use the delay and find it just fine.

Setting the chicken knobs at 12 O'clock is like a 5 out of 10. My EQ's are all 12 O'clock or all 2 O'clock. The amp is very balanced. Gain is around 2 O'clock for very slight overdrive. Master never goes over 10 O'clock for bedroom level practice. Cranking the gain produces a very nice, compressed tube-saturated overdrive that's fun to play around with. Every nuance of overdrive is available to you in-between. Cranking the Master is unbearable in a small room. This thing is loud!

In the future I will upgrade the stock speaker to a Weber. The stock tubes will also get upgraded. It doesn't sound bad now, even with my stock Epi pickups. I’m upgrading them to Phat Cats when the funds are there. I just know it has much more potential to unleash. I bought this in consideration as an upgrade path where I'd keep the basic amp and grow it from there.

I guess it's the Epi name going up against the big names that discourage players from evaluating it on their own. Life is too short to make purchases based on snake oil and voodoo economics. Do yourself a favor and review it for yourself in person. I snagged mine for $299.00 by bringing in the Internet ad. They wanted $399.00 for it in-store.

One thing. I brought the floor model home while waiting on a brand new one to ship. The floor model from Guitar Center had external and internal damage. Make sure you’re testing on that hasn’t been abused! I bought this based on the specs, the sound and the build quality.

Seeing that i LOVE my BJr. i'll vote for the Fender !

Now if you are willinh to hook the BJr. up to a 4x10 or 4x12, you will sopund huge - FACT !

I am getting a Cannabis Rex speaker for my BJr. soon.

The Epi VS also has an 8ohm external speaker out. It matches the BJ with 3 preamp tubes and 2 El84 outputs.

I second the Laney VC15. ITS REALLY PORTABLE. Has a nice alnico jensen 10 inch and is lovely sounding, with verb etc.
