Christian, I think Bruce put the Sovtek WXT's in my '51 Super. My buddy Rondo likes those NOS Phillips 6L6 WGB tubes in his '54 tweed Super. Lew

I really like the NOS JAN Phillips 6L6WGB's as well but I do have a set of them and Im not sure they are gonna br right for my Twin...Bruce was really talking up the SED's so I might have to give them a shot...

Re: which 6L6's

I spent some quality time a/bing the Sovteks and the TAD's this afternoon in the same amp and here's what I heard:

Sovtek:Ballsy, more trebley and chimey than the TAD's and raspier undergain.

TAD's-Very round, TON of lowend and smoother under gain. I have a whole new appreciation for the TAD's after today.

Thanks for that Ryan...very cool!

I have a feeling that the TADS are out of the running this go around but you never know...

Re: which 6L6's

I have the SED's in a couple of my Mesa amps, and I am very pleased. One previously had Sovteks, the other Chinese GT6L6Cs--a vast improvement over both, IMHO.
