Which ACDC album do you think has Angus' best tone?

From a tonal perspective only, which album do you think Angus' tone is the best.

I actually prefer some of the later tones which aren't as raw and harsh, like back in black. Also love stiff upper lip, which i just chucked on now and made me think about it and write this thread

Yeah i know what you mean, i just think i prefer the smoother tones of his from later albums, if i was going to be using one of his tones myself anyway that is what i'd prefer.

And im gonna have to add the stiff upper lip album to my already favourite back in black...its tone ROCKS!

"Back In Black" is absolutely one of the Greatest Rock & Roll Guitar albums of all time !!! No Question !!! .....

Highway to Hell gets my vote. That's what I hear in my head when I think Gibson + old school Marshall.

I've gotta cast my vote for Back In Black. I love his tone throughout the entire album, but for some reason, "Have A Drink On Me" just does it for me every time.

I don't think his tone's changed all that much over the years, the difference is mostly in the production. Angus can shake one note and you know who it is instantly. Still......I'd have to say it's a tie between "Back In Black" and "Highway To Hell." Honorable mention to "If You Wan't Blood You've Got It" and "Stiff Upper Lip."

I love listening to the live AC/DC records, since you hear the ambience of the venue also.

I'd vote Highway To Hell. However, I recently listened to their least popular record, Flick of the Switch, and noticed they really captured the essense of a cranked plexi on that.

If you wanna hear AC/DC, hear them live, or on vinyl with a good analog audiophile grade stereo system. CD's lose some of that needed warmth.
