Which duncan PAF for string separation and clarity?

I think the '59 is pretty good for string separation. More so than the antiquity or seth for sure (both of which are great pickups, but with a warm middy everything blending together kinda thing going on).

I can see that description for the Seth (kinda honky, in a good way, too), but not the Antiquity.

I have a LP loaded with Saturday Night Specials set and love them - great string separation and the neck pickup when soloing almost sounds like a flute when played clean. The bridge is rockin’ and has a great treble / presence when strumming a chord with a crunchy amp. That classic 70’s sound you hear in rock songs

I'm doing primarily Modern Worship stuff now and for many of those tones clarity and string separation is essential. I REALLY like the Saturday Night Specals . They are very articulate and clear with a almost acoustic characteristic clean when run together. Really like that pickup set. They also are pretty nice with high gain. Had a pearly Gates set in my Carvin ST 300 that i swapped for the SNS set. I found the PG set to be really harsh and to gritty in particular when you rolled the volume back on the guitar. The SNS really killed in that guitar so i grabbed another set for my semi hollow AE 185. IMO is the best slightly hot PAF set I have tried from Duncan.

Yep have had the same experience with the SNS set really like them.

I honestly feel like ANY Duncan PAF has great separation and clarity. I think that's just the nature of the lower winds.

But yeah, about clarity and separation, I think the scoopier ones like the Jazz or the '59 might come across as such. I LOVE the '59B, personally.
