Which guitar to take? Advice please

I need to decide which guitar to take with me to southeast asia tomorrow. Here are the considerations:

1. My mexican tele. Only issue is the thread is gone on the neck pickup and I'll need to get that repaird somewhere, so it's not instantly playable. However, it is MIM and a bolt-on, so I guess otherwise it's easy to adjust as it changes in the warm climate. However, the music shop here had no ideas on how to address the thread issue on the neck pickup...neither do I. Also, I suck when it comes to practical matters.

2. My mahogany neck-thru maple sided custom superstrat...this needs no repairs, but I'm not sure how easy it is to adjust in a different climate...would most normal stores be able to do a decent job?

Any ideas? Guess I have 12 hours to decide haha...thought the tele would be repaired by now but it didn't work out with the person who was supposed to be doin something with it...

Is this just a trip, or are you moving. I would take the cheap one on the trip..

both about the same value...moving for a year...

Leaning towards the neck-thru, just not sure how easy they are to get the setup adjusted on...

If your moving for a year........... why not take both? The MIM Tele I am assuming when you say it is stripped you are talking about the pickup height adjustment screw. If the hole in the body has become stripped just put a tooth pick in the hole and then put the screw back and its done.

Decided I'll probably just take the superstrat...it's the thread on the height adjustment screw on the actual SD pickup baseplate (on the tele). But I prefer the superstrat anyway, so that'll do.

take the strat. i don't know why but i don't like teles.

Take both, or take neither, and just buy a cheapo to play while you're there.

can you put a small nut under the base plate to retain the machine screw?

Hmmm...a friend did try that actually but it ended up that the pickup could only be mounted too high (too close to the strings), otherwise it would fall off the screw (not enough screw holding in the nut).

Anyway, I took the neck-thru strat. Came through the luggage hold just fine...

It hasn't changed shape so far (dunno if it needs more time for that to happen) but it's not too hot here at the moment, probably only upper 20s celcius and high humidity. Perhaps it'll change a bit more when summer rolls around and things warm up some.
