Dear all,
My question is really simple :
Which humbucker (neck position) to match with an Antiquity bridge on a Telecaster Squier Classic Vibe 50 ?
I want a full size one, I play mostly Rock, Blues, Garage... (The Black Keys, Rolling Stones, The Sonics, Johnny Cash etc.)
My bridge has an Antiquity (1) single coil for Tele.
The Antiquity humbucker looks great but is a bit expensive for me.
Do you have suggestions and, important, experiences to share ?
Thx a lot !

The cheapest one that will sound good is the 59. It's a great pickup for general rock playing. A bit bluesy too but still round. Another option could be a Phat Cat P90. It sounds great in telecasters and will blend seamlessly with any bridge pickup.

you are going to find matching the output and tone a bit tricky between a vintage bridge pup and almost any full size bucker. personally i prefer firebird or mini humbucker pups so would recommend a sm1 if you are open to something else. if not, a 59 or jazz would be a good relatively inexpensive option

Thx guys !
A phat cat is more a boosted single coil than a cool humbucker actually.
The Antiquity Telecaster bridge DCR is about 6.5 in my memory, Alnico 2.
Must I use only An Alnico 2 humbucker to match with it ?
About Firebird pickups, what's the difference ?
In another brand catalogue, there's Di Marzio 36th anniversary 's paf ?

You should be ok levels wise if you add a way to split and/or parallel the humbucker.

Thanks !
About a mini humbucker, do I have to adapt my guitar ? My neck pickup hole is humbucker sized.

Great !
Thanks a lot.
Just one thing : won't a mini humbucker be a bit "bass-less" sounding ? (sorry for my english)

Thanks for all !
I'm looking for a Mini humbucker Antiquity or Minibucker.
Or a TV Jones... Thx again.

Generally, the people who choose full size humbuckers for the neck know that they will be louder than the bridge pickup. I think even a mini hum or firebird pickup might be a little loud- and a Firebird pickup would be way brighter than a normal humbucker. What kind of sound are you going for? Is balance with the bridge important to you? Why not a traditional single coil?

I want to play Blues Garage Rock (Black Keys, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, The Clash, The Sonics...)
Having a single in bridge and a humbucker in neck will permit me to have 3 really differents sounds.
I won't split the neck, don't need to.
But I clearly want this set-up.
(I had a G&L semi hollow asat bluesboy with it, it was great, really, with a crazy middle position)
Actually, I more and more thinking of the DiMarzio 36th anniversary...

I would consider an Antiquity Humbucker or a Seth.

If that is the setup you want, for that music...I can't think of anything better than a Seth Lover.
