Which is your favorite type of pickup?

I am just curious about it...

I have chosen humbucker becouse, well... becouse i love the sound!!

i went with single coils cause between a tele and a strat you can do almost anything especially with qp's and other hotter singles. i think that there is more detail in singles, maybe?

yes, may be. I even thought about high/low output humbucker, strat or tele pickups... etc. But I wanted to represent just the general groups.

I like HB Les Paul bridge and SC strat neck.

I went with single coils too, because they have the clearest, livliest rythym tone which is what we guitarists play 90% of the time.

I like a paf style humbucker for soloing, but with my amps (modded 20 watt Fenders w/Celestion 12's) I can get that kind of tone out of my Teles too...especially with the Jerry Donahue Tele lead pickup...and especially with a Boss DS-1 set to about 1/2 way.

But I don't need the DS-1...I have my amps set up to start to sing at about volume 4.

So: Single Coils.

I do think we should split HB in 2 : PAF-style HB and Modern-style HB.

They are both different animals.

That's kinda tough. They're all so good for different things. But I went with humbuckers. I can split 'em.

I went with Humbuckers. I love warmer smoother tones. and Yes the Hum cancel.

HB's, although I have to have singles as well.

I went with humbuckers too for the same reason previously listed - You can split 'em and get the best of both worlds......theoretically

humbuckers, to be more specific medium output humbuckers like teh Custom.
and of course if i want that start sound i can always split them.

That was the hardest question ever, but b/w the fender single coil and the humbucker ,i gotta go with Humbucker.

Humbucker in the bridge is important. Everything else doesn't matter....

i need both to get the sound i like.....Hb for their fat "solo" sound and SC for their beutiful clean and bluesy sound...that's why my favorite pickup configuration is the HSS.

Definitely the humbucker. Although i love the singles and the p90's too, i could never get by without a bucker.

Definetely more clarity. However, overall, I'd have to go with the buckers because of the noise free execution that just isn't possible with the single coil equipped guitars I've played with, and for the thumping bass and thickness I get from my humbuckers.

It's always been the same for me - SC for clean, HB for dirt. The perfect solution! Multiple guitars! Or a 4-Conductor wiring! :wink:

I vote for single coils, but the way I play I need both.

I have splits on my HB'ers, but that doesn't always cut it.

Now, if I could find a way to get singles to do high gain the way HB'ers do high gain....

I voted other for Mini humbuckers
