which lp's did Eddie use the CC on??

Was listening to Fair Warning and was listening to the guitar tone (big surprise, uh?). I was wondering if he was using the CC on that recording (so this is love, and Mean Streets)??

I don't believe Eddie used the CC at all. I think it was an overwound PAF and Seymour Duncan's current EVH / '78 model closely resembles it. I just bought a CC because it's supposed to come close to that sound.

If he ever used a CC, it would have been around 1984. I haven't ever used the CC, but I have read many places that it comes close to the 1984 tones.

I don't believe he ever used a CC either.

The pickup in the replica Frankie guitar, though, is 13.1 k with an A2 magnet, so it's not exactly in Duncan's '78 territory, either.

He used the CC on the 1984 album. Panama is the only song though, IIRC.

I questioned a Seymour Duncan rep about the pickup they made for the 25K Replica. Although, he could not tell me specifics, he did say the closest pickup to it was the Custom Custom!

I thought he used it on Women and Children First but didn't know if he used it beyond that recording.

When did the CC come out? I really doubt it was around back then.

The story that I know is that Eddie had a Custom and in his mad ways, messed with it, and put the Alnico II mag in. The other part is that apparently Seymour wanted to market it as Eddie's pickup but Eddie didn't want that, hence the Custom Custom was born.

As to the validity of all that, I can't say, but I have heard that from a few people over the years in discussions. The first I heard that was around 1993.
