Which One?

ok, ive narrowed my choices down to three humbuckers to put in the neck of my Basswood Maple Top/ Rosewood Neck. To go with the Invader in the bridge, i have picked the Alnico II, Seth Lover, and SH-1. But i dont know which will sound best in the guitar. So plz plz help me. Thanks.

Maybe ill just use the JB in the bridge, but im not sure if its a neck or bridge pup, and i dont know how to tell, or if it makes any difference or not...

There is no JB neck version. The sticker on the back should say JB or TB4 for the trembucker version.

k good, so i got that problem cleared up, so which would go better with a basswood body/rw neck and a warm pup( like Alnico 2, 59, or Seth Lover) JB, or Invader? or should i just buy a custom 5?

I've never used any of the Customs, so the C-5 will not be considered in what I say.

If you want a hella-versatile pickup, go with the JB.
If you want a hella-hot pickup, minus most of the versatility, go with the Invader.
Both kick ass in their own ways.

K, im thinking ill go with the JB, because i play alot of different stuff. Now, i just have to decide on the neck pup, so, alnico 2? SH-1? or Seth Lover?

My favorite out of those neck pickups is the Alnico II pro by far.

K, is there any way the JB and APH-2 will sound too bright in Basswood with a RW neck?

The aph-2 should not sound to bright. About the JB, You will have to get that info from someone else. I have had limited experience with one and I didnt get along with it when I used it.

The JB may be too bright, but 250k pots may solve that. Or you could swap in an Alnico II magnet, although that would change the character of the pickup dramatically, people have had good experience with it.

Hmmmm..... A JB with an alnico 2 magnet???? Sounds like something I may like. Italic Zero, What have you heard about them?

Ya, I thought the JB could sound pretty bright in basswood, I think the APH2 will be fine tho, i just havent had much experience with magnet changing, or how much it costs...
