Which pickup pairs have you never swapped out?

I have a few, from the Fender Strat forum.

Now that you posted that, I remember that first diagram from somewhere here in the forum where someone was asking a wiring question about it. IIRC, I gave up on it. :wall:

Nice link. That switch actually works for a completely different wiring scheme I've been toying with. Thanks.

Oh cool...let us know about it when it is finalized. I took a guess on that being the right switch, btw...is it?

Wouldn't that be 4P3T then?

This can be confusing. The "T", (throw), designation, is independent of the possible handle positions. "Throws" refers to how many places the "P" (pole) can connect to. So, you could have a DPDT that's, On-On, On-Off-On, or On-On-On. It's still a DPDT switch. Two "commons", that can connect to either of two contacts. (Or none, in the case of the on-off-on.)

The oddball in the group is that weird DPDT that we see in guitars sometimes. It can either be DPDT, with an odd switching scheme, or if you add an external jumper, it becomes a SP3T. Then, if you have two of those in a single case, (as Jeremy referenced), you have either a 4PDT or a DP3T. The latter when you add the external jumpers. Internally, they are the same switch. It's just a question of how you wire it.

I can't edit above . . . but when you see one of the positions in parenthesis, (on)-off-(on), it means it's a spring-loaded temporary position. When you let go, it returns to center.

This would be the DPDT with the external jumper (red) to make it a SP3T:
