I've narrowed it down to these three after doing A LOT of research. The guitar its going into is a neck thru jackson king v with quartersawn maple neck, ebony fretboard, alder wings, and a floyd rose. I'm a metal player but I want a full tone that has nice bass, smooth highs and mids. High output isn't a concern really.

Re: Which Pickup?

PATB-2 Bridge. i had this in my basswood ibanez awhile back. i had it removed coz i felt that i wanted a different sound that wat my other guitars have, so i threw in a scooped sounding pup...the Dimarzio SS

but the PATB 2 would serve ur needs of a nice bass smooth mids and somewhat smooth highs. plus it looks cool too.

Do you think it would be the least bright out of the three? The JB in the kv2 is too bright, but the jb in my schecter suits it well.

Its a tough choice.:banghead: I honestly can't decide between the three. I guess I don't want to sacrifice loosing one characteristic for another.

PATB-3 IMO does this and does it very well. I have not played the PATB-2 and I have limited expereince with the PATB-1.

Tell ya what bro, are you in the USA? If so, you can use Duncans 21 day exchange program. Start with the PATB-3 and if that dont do it for ya, try the 2 or the 1.

Re: Which Pickup?

That's going to be a pretty bright guitar, so I would go with either the PATB-2or the Saraceno. The PATB-2 is like a hotter darker DD (they're pretty different but that will give you an idea) so I think it would work well. I haven't actually played the Saraceno, but I know I have heard people rave about it in a wolfgang which is also very bright, so I think it would work out well for a more vintage sound.

Re: Which Pickup?

One if the reasons I say the PATB-3 is becasue it is tight. I have heard the PATB-2 isnt all that tight and you need tightness for metal. I find the PATB-3 versatile and you can play classic stuff with it or, if you have a decent rig, metal isnt a problem.

I think the PATB3 would be the one to go with.

Thanks for all the replies.
