Which pickups for me

I am getting ready to replace my pickups (hh) in my ibanez s620ex. It has a floyd style trem (zero point). I have always loved the jb, but I really like the extra presence in the screamin demon. Problem is that the demon didnt seem to clean up as well as the jb did on the comparison soundbites I listened to. I like a clean sounding pickup. I have always preferred that the amp takes care of the gain. I know that I'm putting the jazz (sh2n) in the neck, I love it. I almost liked it for the bridge, but I feel that it maybe a bit thin for my style of playing (iron maiden, ozzy, etc.).It shows a 0 for the bass output (on the tone chart). I also like to play blues and classic rock, so I want versitility in my pickup, which the jb has. Does the screamin demon? Any help would be appreciated. Also, should I buy the trembucker? Is it that big of a difference? Also, the guitar is the thin s body (mahogany) with bound rosewood fingerboard.

Welcome to the forum.

A Trembucker will help to get the polepieces of the pickup to align with your strings.

It seems to me that what you seek is a TB-4 with the presence of a Screamin' Demon. It might be possible to achieve some of this by changes in the controls department. What resistance values and tapers do your volume and tone pots have? What capacitors and/or Treble Bypass networks are currently in your guitar.

The Demon cleans up much better than the JB. It's not a very dirty pup (only 10k), but it does handle OD and Dist very well. Bottom line is that it is a clean, articulate pup that is capable of distortion. The JB is a high output pup capable of cleaning up.

I think I have 500k pots in the guitar. Not sure about capacitors. How would I find that out? And thanks for the welcome. It seems like there will be alot of useful info floating around here.

Thats probably what I want (sh12). Is it as versitile as the jb? By that I mean will it be a pickup that will sound good on alot of different styles of music. And do you recommend a 500k pot for that pickup? I was also looking at the duncan quick change system. I'm just not sure if it will fit in the space I have available in the cavity.

The Demon, IMO, is more versatile than the JB. It sounds good doing anything. Definitely a 500k pot.
