Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

Something Cool
Anything you would buy back if it popped up in the classifieds, I mean that you owned and sold?

I once had a 1975 LP Custom which I was correct about to sell since it was blocking too much money but wee I want.

My old Explorer, sold to somebody here but then went on Ebay. Poor thing.

I sometimes want my Music Man Steve Morse model back but the &()(@(@(@ narrow nut would probably prevent me from actually playing this time around, too.

The set of WCR darkbursts I sold with my SG. WTF? SGs suck!

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

I'd be interested in the Westbury Custom I had. I think I sold it in something like 1984/85. I'd be curious to see how it compares to what I have now.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

The very first bass I ever got. A 1984 Fender P Bass that I got new.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

Got no monies, but it's all relatively inexpensive...

"Maybe" this one, traded even for an Epi Explorer that I still have.Dude offered to sell it back to me,but see line #1...

Def this one.Sold the neck & body only, but ...:( Maybe could get it back, again, line #1

Actually impressed enough w/my Hot Rails Squier that I really don't miss my Blackmore(1st Run,only 500 made).Made about $150 on the Blackmore when I sold it,tho...

A Ric 430 I owned back in the early '80's. Hardly ever see them. The black one on the left:

Better pics of a similar guitar:

The Gordon-Smith GS-1 that I had modified by installing a dogear P-90.

I ructantly let the guitar go when I was strapped for cash. Numerous attempts to cajole the purchaser into selling it back have failed. That error of judgement has cost me dearly - two Gibson P90-equipped Les Pauls and two PRS SE models (plus aftermarket pickups!).

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

Only 2 things really. One was my '84 335 (if it had the fretwork done I got rid of it for) and amp-wise my old Dr. Z Route 66 and matching blonde Z-Best.

1983 Les Paul 59 Flame Top Reissue. I traded it for a new fender srv strat and $500. Makes me sick thinking about it..

1978 Mustang.

Sold it for exactly the same amount of money I bought it for.

That was alright, I modded it heavily so it lost any "value". the guy brought it back to life. took it to a luthier who did all kinds of work on it.

Which year did you make that trade in?

Back in the day the investment value of things couldn't be seen.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

Squier '51 - sunburst - had a phat cat and APS-2 in it and a Gibson style switch. I sold it to buy a 7 string. Sold the 7 cause I didn't play it anymore.

Crate half stack - GFX1200H & GX412S cab. Sold it when I moved to California because my ex-wife made me.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

My PRS CE24 Maple Top. It was the first ''nice'' guitar I ever bought, and I sold it when I discovered more vintage tones in Gibsons. It still remains the most versatile instrument I've ever played.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

I have two I'd like back...a '57 Es-125T and a 52 Esquire. Stupid mistakes...selling both of them.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

A few that I did buy again are these...

87 Marshall Jubilee 100W head I bought new and sold for $650 in 92. I now have a 50W fullsize Jubilee stack.
Late 80's Les Paul Custom Black Beauty 2 pickup model. I now have the same thing in the 3 pickup version.

Some things I would buy again if money were no issue...

71 Marshall Super Bass 100W head heavily modified by Alan Cear at the LA Amp Shop. It was previously owned by a few people like Bob Rock and the guy from Enuff'Z'Nuff...Derek Frijo? Monster of an amp!

I had an amp endorsement in the 90's with boutique brand, Blues Pearl. I had a combo and 3 heads that ranged from Bassman to Dumble to 68 Plexi. All were handmade for me. I sold them all for the Bogner and Matchless stuff. I'd like the Dumble (Shred Head) and plexi (Brittone 50) I had. I'd buy those 2 back.
I'd also like my Blues Pearl Blue Screamer OD pedal. That was a good one.

I'd also buy my teen era main guitar - original San Dimas Charvel in black/maple neck.
Maybe my old Boss OD-1 too. I never thought that would turn out to be valuable. Also the best envelope filter ever made, the Lovetone Meatball. I was too broke to hang onto that expensive pedal. I'd love to have that back.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

I had a '78 Stingray bass that was perfect except for the **** brown color.
I should of had it refinished!

Looked just like this but with no wood grain coming thru.

Depending on the condition it was in, my ESP Eclipse II. I'd buy it back and replace the pots with RS Guitarworks Super Pots.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

Honestly nothing, guitar-wise. I sold them because they weren't working for me, and I can't say I wish I still had any of them.

Amps and pedals, however ... I'd love to have my Empress Phaser back. And sometimes I wish I had my old Mesa DC-3 for portability's sake.

Re: Which piece would you buy back? (sold sold sold)

Maybe this Kramer Pacer Special.

Or a Ibanez JS1000 I had, it was sweet!
