Which Pots to use??

I've got an American Std. Strat and it's currently running a bridge and neck hot rail and some sort of Duncan in the middle(not sure what it came out of a late 80's Hamer Californian). Anyways, I'm about to install a full-size JB in the bridge position and I was wondering if I needed to switch the 250k pots to the 500k ones. If so how many would I need and would I need to get capacitors too? I'm sure someone here knows, if you guys can think of anything else I might need(besides a new pickguard) please let me know that way I have everything before I install it. Thanks ahead of time for the help!

Why not just get a JBJR?

BTW, this really should be in the pickup lounge, but it works.

Re: Which Pots to use??

Well I got the JB from a buddy of mine, and I don't have the cash to get a jr. and I don't want to get rid of the JB since I'm routed for humbuckers. I also am saving up to put in a Sustainiac alongside the Hot Rail. I've heard what the Sustainiac sounds like with a Super 3 run with it(a'la Def Leppard) and I wanted to see what it would sound like running with a JB. It's going to be awhile before that happens but until then I've gotta make due with the full size JB, I love the sound of it though and really want to get it in the guitar to give me more tonal options. Sorry I posted out of topic! Lol

Re: Which Pots to use??

I think that Seymour himself recommends using 250k pots with a JB. My personal experience was that I preferred the JB with 250k pots, but it was a bright guitar to begin with. I'd say install it with the pots you got, and go from there. If you want it to be brighter, then switch them out.
