Which pups for an acrylic ax?

A dude I know built an SG body with acrylic, using an Epi neck, and wants some buckers to sound like "Guns & Roses". I said that acrylic probably sounds dull compared to wood so he should use a bright pup set such as JBb-JazzModeln.
But I aint sure since I have never used an acrylic guitar! Which pups do you recomend?

Acrylic is extremely dense. I would think it would be very bright and sustain a lot. I would pick something medium to high output with a good helping of low mids. Custom, alt 8, emg 85, blackout, tone zone, maybe even a super distortion. This purely me guessing.
