I've never tried RAT before but I want to try it because I like the name!
The problem is there are different kinds of RAT and I do not know which rat I should get. My style is progressive death dark shredding screamo emo power southern thrash speed metal.

Let me know if you have a first hand exprience.

Re: Which RAT to go?

I have an old Rat 2...but never heard the other models, so I
don't know how it compares. I stopped using it after I got a
Tech 21 Sansamp GT2.

Re: Which RAT to go?

Get either the original rat (not the reissue but one from the mid 80's) or the first series of rat 2's. Both of these sound good the original rat is louder and chunkier but doesnt track as good as the rat 2 can. The Rat 2's were changed not sure exactly how long ago but they sound like crap in comparison.

Re: Which RAT to go?

Anybody knows a cool website for different RAT circuit versions and stuff ?

Re: Which RAT to go?

Get on Ebay and find a stock mid 80's Rat in the big box. Robert S. recommended that to me and that's just what I did. It was excellant advice. Lew

Re: Which RAT to go?

I've got a duecetone that I bought from ebay member for a same rpice as a vintage rat pedal... it's got everything you need and then some!

There are various setting for compining both sides of the pedal at the official rat website.
