Which STK 6 or 7?

In my never ending hunt for “my” perfect noiseless ( I hate 60 cycle hum, and been there done that, all my Strats are shielded and grounded properly, done the dummy coil thing and do not want the Illitch back plate) Strat bridge pickup I will give one of these a go. Hell I will probably buy both but what say yoos?
I’m always sort of walking the line between having some Strat bite to it and being beefy enough to rock.
I have a few faves at this point. I love the Fury and my second fave is the Injector. Have or had STK-S9 ( almost humbucker-y, but too round no bite). Dimarzio HS-3 ( got bite and sounds good with a pedal, but weak out put and not great for cleanish stuff). Hot rails ( just way too much). Cool rails ( it’s actually a neck model but meh). Lil 59 ( not terrible just not perfect, not great). Vintage stack for Tele (in a Strat, great pickup in a Tele), Fender Vintage noiseless (I like the neck pickup). Hot noiseless ( just not enough oomph). SD hot stack ( too one dimensional) I’m sure I’m forgetting something.
Any how I do not play anything with drastic drop tunings or massive modern gain. But I do play hard rock/ early metal to Rockabilly to country to blues. My cleans are as God intended, with some grit to it.
So if you have knowledge about this I must have it, or just post a recipe for meatloaf, either way.

Neither of these have the chime of a regular single, but the STK-7 has more to my ears than the -6. If you want a beefy single coil-ish sounding bridge pickup, either of these would work. The -7 is also less compressed-feeling, if that is a thing for you.

i prefer the 7 over the 6. to me it sits right where i want, vintage tone and feel but with more mids and bottom and a less strident top end. it still sounds like a strat bridge pup but with more muscle. it balances great with the classic stack plus neck and middle.

Thanks for the reply, I do not want shall we say vintage Strat wimpy but I do want chime. I also want beef, I know I’m not asking for much :lmao:.

It is hard to find to many vids with the STK S7 In the bridge position but this one is pretty good with the STK S4 compared to the Fury which is a fave of mine I think for sure this sealed the deal.

Thanks for chiming in, sounds like I will try the -7 and pair it with the STK S4 I have now.

I have a STK-S4 neck with STK-S7 bridge in an LTD Strat copy and it's a set I will never swap. I can (try to) play some blues, classic rock, pop and hard rock out of that set.
Always wanted a Tele but the STK-S7 in the bridge stopped the GAS (so far).

I suggest you wire the STK-S7 to its own tone control.

STK S-7 installed and I want to thank you guys for the guidance it is perfect. I think it may have become #1. It seems to ba able to cover a lot of ground also, very versatile. Thanks again.
