Which STK pickups get closest to the YJM Fury set?

Just tried a YJM Fury set and like everything about them except the crazy-high staggered pole pieces.

The STK range have flat pole pieces. Which combo of STK Strat pickups would get me closest to the YJM set?

(I know you can custom order YJM's with flat pole pieces....but please humor me.)

Good to see you on here, Aaron! I have a Soloist body on the way I ordered last week.

Honestly, the closest are probably either the Vintage Rails or Duckbuckers. But they don't look like normal Strat pickups. The Classic Stacks (my favorite) don't sound much like the Furys. But they would be the closest.

You might be able to get flat poles on YJMs without going to the Custom Shop- but it would be through the Shop Floor Custom program. These can be ordered through any dealer. Read about that program here.

Wow! The VR's and Duck @ 2.5k, would be closest to the YJM's @ 25.5 and 25.7K? I know DCR isn't everything, but that's a heckuva spread.

Thanks! I haunt this forum frequently, but rarely post.

Checking out the Shop Floor Custom now!

DCR becomes exponentially more meaningless the more different the construction is. I just recently measured my Deathbuckers in parallel at 1.2k and they still beat the crap out of any preamp I plug them in to.

For reference though, the YJM in parallel (if it were possible) and the Duckbucker in series would both read roughly 10k.

True. The YJM's are 4-wire, so should be able to be wired parallel. But I wonder if anyone would do that? If I didn't have so many irons in the fire, I'd just try it myself.

the yjm are old school stack tech, so quite different than the stack plus series. and the yjm is kinda unique in the duncan line so daves suggestion of flat pole from the shop floor is the way to go

Thanks everybody. I was curious about this because I just did a video for the Warmoth YouTube channel in which I install a set of YJM pickups, and I thought they sounded great.

I have a Strat that I'm looking for pickups for, and thought these would be a good fit. Looks like I'll have to try Shop Floor Custom somehow.

FYI, vid is supposed to go live on March 13, 2025.

We'll look for it!
While Yngwie loves his pickups, my fave noiseless set is the Classic Stacks. Slightly louder than vintage, but dead quiet and super quacky.
