Which string brands have tighter tension?

Let's say you have one type of guitar and uses only one type of string gauges for one type of tuning. You've tried many string manufacturer product on it so which one have the tightest tension for said string gauges?

Agreed, Dean Markleys seem tight to me.

I do have to add that the new Helix strings do not feel tight like their other strings.

DR Tite Fits do the trick. I havent tried the DR DDT's(Drop Down Tuning) which are supposed to keep tension in drop tunings while retaining the same gauge as light to medium gauge strings.

These strings are so awesome. They probably have the thickest tone I've heard out of any brand of strings I've tried with the same gauges too. I use 10-48's. They have really good tension.

Elixirs. Most stiff and hard to bend strings I've ever tried. In other hand, GHS strings are the softest on tension to me. Although, I didn't try all the brands...

Just a thought: flatwound strings usually have a little more tension than round wounds of the same gauge. I use a set of Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Swings on a tele, and love them.

I've been using the 12-54's but I have been doing more bends in my music recently so I've been looking at something a little thinner. I'm using the 11-50's currently and they seem to have a good balance of "Holy ****ing ****, those strings are toit" and "Wow, my finger can actually bend the low E string up a full step." I've learned that thicker string have thicker tones as well, so I'm not completely giving up on a low E in the 50's.

It's hard to find anything that is still tight and stiff these days, now that family values have declined dramatically.

For C# the 12-54 are perfect. Best strings I've tried.

I don't think D'Addario's fit into the high tension category at all. In my experience Markleys and GHS have always had higher tension.

I've never used the Elixir electric strings, but their acoustic strings usually have several more pounds of tension than comparable D'Addarios--enough to mandate changes to the truss rod. I only use the J-Series or the EXP strings on my acoustics now--I was breaking too many Elixirs. And the tone is superior to boot!

elixirs are the tightest i've ever used, but they last SOO much longer, i can suck it up and not be a beeetch about it.

how to cleartones compare as far as tension?
