Which Would You Prefer And Why?

Re: Which Would You Prefer And Why?

I think you should really get know your amps and then think of pedal, you just got a TT that's plenty of British sound a lot of gain on tap. Why would you buy another brit crunch box? Wait, spend some time with your el diablo and than decide what's next in your tone sculpting. If I were I would go different route totally, if you are looking for something british, think of something that is in the history of metal/heavy tones but hasnt been used for decades - treble booster, you already have enough gain now colour it, now think of how you gonna color it.

Re: Which Would You Prefer And Why?

well i wanted an overdrive and i liked both of these pedals. i actually have several hours to decide which one i'll get because it won't ship until tomorrow. i wanted an overdrive pedal because all my other pedals are distortion. the laney tt50 doens't have high gain. it's pretty moderate except when all the way up. all the way up it's a little noisy, but still very good. i think an overdrive might help round it out a little and give it a little extra mojo.

i was thinking of using channel 2 (crunch channel on my laney) with a little grit and then pushing it with teh overdrive pedal.

they both sound good, but i'm not sure which one will be more useful overall with my amps or versatile for different situations. what do you guys think?

Re: Which Would You Prefer And Why?

Oops missed it,
Dude, really, british steel sound to my ears just sounds as a TS like circuit played through a cooked JCM800 or JMP, but if you are into that kind of thing, just by a TS9 send it to John spina and you got it, it will cost less than 200 including shipping.
Silver tone .... I dont know dude, I am not a blues guy so I dont really know what to say ...

Re: Which Would You Prefer And Why?

For that money I would get a Hot British tonebone or SD's Lava box, sorry dude I cant justify 200 bucks for what sounds like a variation of TS circuit.

Re: Which Would You Prefer And Why?

**** dude, didn't you already buy the British Steel? Not to mention you just got a new Laney, right? Doesn't the Laney get you to Plexi territory? I always like to try to get each piece of gear dialed in before I move on to the next piece.

Good luck, I don't have experience with either. (And I think I found someone with more spontaneous GAS than me!)

Re: Which Would You Prefer And Why?

i have more than one amp. also, i did already buy it, but i have the option of changing to the silverstone overdrive before they ship it tomorrow
