Where's that pic of EVH's head on Gollum's (LOTR) body? That's a classic.
But yeah, that's not Frankie. Frankie is his original B&W which he later re-striped and re-painted, adding the red to it.
However, the neck is the original. Kramer reshaped the head and attached their hockeystick mods to it, according to insiders at FMIC/Charvel to whom Ed lent the guitar so they could make the EVH models.
I always wondered what that was crammed into the center single-coil route in Frankie. I saw the replica at NAMM in 08 : it's the original 5-way blade switch, all crusty and corroded.

Actually that was a name brand guitar. Kramer body (Pacer Special to be exact) and neck made by Paul Unkert who at the time was a Kramer employee.
not very well known guitarist playing a no name guitar made of crappy pieces, which it was after named as a movie.
