Who bought my goldtop Schecter PT?

Re: Who bought my goldtop Schecter PT?

Careful. This could turn expensive.

I have this one? Great guitar. It used to be Xssive's. He was going to have it routed for Humbuckers, so I bought it & put a set of Duncan Antiquity P90's in it. My initial thought was to set it up for slide but honestly it sounds so good I couldn't just leave it for slide. Great playing & sounding guitar. It has tone pro bridge & tailpies, I think Grover tuners. Love this thing...

No kiddin'. I'm seriously thinking about building another one. Can't decide between gold or black. I have history with both.

I'm about 80% sure that I sold it to somebody here on SDUGF, rather than TDPRI. I wonder who it was?

Re: Who bought my goldtop Schecter PT?

Update: I never found out who bought the old one. I've been trying to buy a used PT on eBay.

I won a goldtop, but the seller had to leave town right after the auction closed because his son had a heart attack. No word from him in weeks.

I got outbid on a black one, but then it got relisted a few days later. I bid much higher this time, and still got outbid. It's like I'm cursed.

WhoFan, I started pricing up a Warmoth last night, using their online designer. Alder, HB routes, rear-routed for controls, drilled for Tele HB bridge, single cream binding, painted black... at that point is was over $500 for just the body and I gave up.

I already have a neck and pickups. I just need to keep bidding on used PTs, I suppose. Some of the new American-made Custom Shop PTs on eBay are nice, but I doubt Pete Townsend would ever play a purple-burst.

That black one is one of the earliest imports. '80s, true, but not nearly the guitars the US-made originals were. Needs a maple neck, too.

The new gold ones are "okay", but not great. I'm not wild about the double-bound, painted-back look. I'm really looking for a cheapish used one, since I'm going to swap necks. I don't like the current Schecters' skinny necks and flat fingerboards, so I plan to install a maple MIM neck that I have on hand. And, yes, I admit it... I'm a peghead snob. Townsend's guitars had Tele-shaped headstocks, and so shall mine.
