I've been GASin hard for an old Kramer Baretta....this looks like a damn good deal for the $ but they NEVER have them in stock..

No pickguard..rear rout
Angled single HB (direct to wood)
one volume control
EDIT: CHROME (not black) hardware/tuners
Alder body with simple one color paint job (not sure of color yet, but thinkin white)
hockeystick headstock
22 Jumbo frets..25.5" scale
Maple neck/board
Original Floyd Rose (EDIT: not floating)

what would somethin like this cost? (completed guitar)

I'm too technology challenged to attempt myself :laugh2:

Drop Theodie a PM...I know for a fact he could do you a Kramer Baretta! He has been planning to build one for himself, so he has the templates. He does great work and will treat you right!

I could get you one with a plywood body pretty darn cheap, but they won't come off the price of it any. The pawn shop has had it for three years and still wants over $200 for it, because the plate on the back has "Neptune, NJ" on it.

They've got a Kramer American which is actually made out of real wood for $250 - if you don't mind HSS. Add on $200 for a Floyd, any for pups, a little paint and labor, you'll probably be pretty close to that one, maybe a bit more. It's white with a black headstock, if you didn't want to paint it. Not a bad guitar, just seems a little high. I can't remember if it was the one with the Kahler bridge or the Floyd Rose II so I'm not sure how a retrofit would go.

Sounds like a mutt to me. Just because the plate says NJ on it doesn't mean squat. Chances are that it's a Striker. I pic of it would be nice if you can get one and the serial number from the plate. Baretta's were solid wood, not plywood. I could find out what it is for sure.

I was kinda thinkinof buyin all Warmoth Parts (or whomever) since they have the Kramer style hockeystick on a compound radius board...but I'll check with him and see what he says...Looked on the Warmoth site ....they have this orange/peachy color kinda like a Gibson coppertop ...that color......chrome hardware (maybe even black too?)..head stock to match the body..Floyd.... And a black Custom Custom in the bridge...heh.... 80's METAL MELTDOWN :laugh2:

Thanks for the info. I think If I'm gonna do this I'm gonna get EXACTLY what I want. I really want the single angled bucker..rear routed, etc.

Honestly the Gibson (err Kramer) I posted the link to is EXACTLY what I want. I heard some clips from a guy over on the HC forums who owns one, and it had a phenomenal "brown" sound..stock HB too.

Those 1984 models are really nice. Now if you want an original original hockeystick model, those would probably cost more than these MusicYo models. Their collectibility is starting to skyrocket.

I used to have 2. Everything on it was the same as this one except it was candy apply red.

I'm almost positive it's a Striker, from what I've read about them. You don't want to see a pic of it. It's a hideous neon green color. Very cool in the 80's. Not so cool now.

If it's in fact a Striker or even a Focus, $125-$150 tops.

Mine says American too, that's just the series. Many of those models never actually said what they were anywhere on the guitar unless it was on the truss rod cover, like the Baretta's. The "American" series were actually ESP necks and bodies assembled in the US. For $250, that's a good deal for it.

Now THAT's what I'm talking about. Sweet guitar, man.
