Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

By stack I mean using two at the same time. I just got a pretty good deal on a Japanese Boss SD-1 and playing it through my Marshall JTM 45 clean it sounded good but nothing to write home about. I then figured what the heck and put my stock Ibanez TS-7 in front of it and with a few tweaks I`ve got a really good sounding tone. I`ve never really tried using two pedals like that before though I`ve heard of people that do. In this case it`s a keeper Tone!

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

I have a Lovetone Brown Source, and sometimes I turn it on and leave it on...I can use my volume control to go from clean to gritty with the Brown Source, and then I'll add something else (usally a Rat or my Spina DS-1) on top of the Brown Source for a nastier crunch or for leads.

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

For my heavier rhythm tone I use my BOSS SD1 to boost the inout of my Spina modded Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer. Works great for me :)

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

I like using my TS808 with the Boss SD1 to compress and smooth out my tone for singing leads..

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

since I run through a SS amp, my only option for getting good sustain with clarity for solos is to boost using another pedal... right now I have a DS-1 running through the Metal Zone. It doesn't colour the tone much, if at all, but gives a harsh sustain boost.. it's all I've got while I'm using SS.. but I'm poor lol

*Looks at quote in sig* :laugh2:

I sometimes use my Tubescreamer into a Distortion +. Works pretty well for solos.

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

I've got a DS-1 which I leave on all the time and use my volume knobs for more or less gain... I'm gonna get a Big Muff Pi for thicker hi-gain sounds.

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

For singing, sustain for days type leads I boost a ZW-44 with a TS-9.

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

i almost always have my DSL's OD2 channel with about half gain, then a Park Fuzz Sound with gain and volume all they way up, treble rolled all the way off, thats my rhythm sound, fat, crunchy and heavy. Then i'll kick on the SD-1 with volume maxed and gain at virtually nothing for screamng leads.

I would love to have that park Fuzz Tone...how do you like it?

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

I used to use a TS-9 in front of a Boss Heavy Metal pedal. The TS9 was mainly a solo boost.

Re: Who stacks their OD/Distortion pedals?

I use a Full-Drive 2 in front of a Fat Boost which works quite well.
This is not stacked distortion effects, of course. I use the OD as 1/2 of the gain stage, and the amp's distortion as the other 1/2.

You really seem to like that Full-Drive 2...I have to check one of those out...everybody that has one raves about it!
