who still makes...

Re: who still makes...

I just saw some of those like a week ago either online or in a magazine....cause I remember saying to myself "I didn't even think you could get those anymore". Now I'm gonna have to rack my brain and go crazy to try and remember.

That's probably the one I saw. I just got a new catalog last week and was browsing through it.
ya I saw it too I couldn't remember where so I just searched MF
Just noticed those cables have bullet casings for the inputs, thus the name I guess

its expensive so I guess that means it doesn't suck :laugh2:

I use one all the time I bought at radio shack, it hasn't messed up yet and its pretty cool. I should buy one of those for the reasons listed further up. :laugh2:

Very thick, heavy cable made with audiophile-grade materials. Plug ends are 24k gold-plated. Copper conductors are 99.99% oxygen-free. Braided copper shield rejects RFI and EMI.

that does not suck...in fact that sounds like a damn good cable...plus the ends are .44 shells...thats rock-n-roll as hell!

Thanks guys!!!

radio shack makes some that arent a fortune if i remember correctly
Radio Shack has Em' (the grey curly one's) As far as them sucking? I think
that's the Idea? They are LoFi. If your going for a vintage tone. From what
I understand SRV liked the RS grey curly cords? (Don't know if he used Em'?)
I have one. It's chessy , But it works fine. I think the Mojo of a curly cord
is it may have more Inductance to it? Than a HiFi cable. I DUNNO? Maybe
tomorrow if I can make some noise I 'll do a cable shootout. See If there
is a disearnable differance. :D

I have heard that coil cords are making a comeback.

Damn...I didn't want everybody and their brother to be using one! :laugh2: :smack:

To be honest...I just think that they look cool! The thing is that they all sound like crap...so I need one that sounds like a good piece of normal cable but looks cool!!!

Re: who still makes...

When I was younger everybody just thought those things were the cat's ass! I haven't used one in ages. I think they were the result of not wanting a lot of cord dangling around your ankles. Nowadays it's called wireless!

Wireless sucks...unless you are playing a huge show on a HUGE stage.

I have no good reason for wanting a coiled cord...except I think they look cool!

Re: who still makes...

i have a huge old one of my dads from Whirlwind Music, and i cant get it to work! its dissappointing because i want to use it, but all the solder connections look good, so there must be a break somewhere in the coil

Wireless doesn't suck, but it isn't for everyone. If you have a decent system, they're actually quite good. I've personally found that the smaller the stage, the more I appreciate the lack of cord separating me from the amp.
