Hey dudes,
I need a particular multi-loop box, and have decided to build one for myself. I also will be building one for Keith (Pink Unicorn Horsey) since he needs pretty much the exact same thing as I do, and there may be one other person interested. I am wondering if anyone else would want something like this, because if I can build a bunch all at the same time the cost for everyone will go down.
Here are the specs:
- 6 true bypass foot-switchable loops in total
- First 3 loops are simple in/out bypass loops
- Last 3 loops can either be in front of the amp, or in an effects
loop (switched via. mini toggle)
- Last 3 loops also have blend pots so you can dial in the amount of
signal going to the effect. Set your effect to 100% wet and use the
blend pot on the looper to blend it with the dry signal. This ensures
that as much preamp signal as possible goes directly to the power amp
uncolored by pedal buffers etc. The blend pot is disabled when the
loop is toggled to be in front of the amp.
- 2 bypass switches for routing your signal to a tuner or an alternate
rig (e.g. an acoustic amp), or just use it to kill your signal.
- Each loop has a send and return jack. Each bypass has a send jack only.
- All loops and bypasses have an LED to indicate on/off (LED's require DC power)
- In addition to the loop sends/returns, the box will also have the
following: input (guitar), output to amp, effects send in, effects
return out, DC in, DC pass-through (run a daisy chain off this to
power your other pedals, assuming your power supply allows it.
- Rugged design with high quality components, point-to-point wiring,
blah blah blah ...
- Enclosure size still not 100% firm, but likely will be 16" x 3" x 2" and it will be solid aluminum or steel.
As far as cost goes, the more people who buy in, the cheaper it will be. We currently have two people in on it for sure (me and Keith). Here is how the cost per unit will work out if I add more orders (US dollars):
3 orders: $117
4 orders: $104
5 orders: $98
6 orders: $93
7 or more orders: $90
Shipping will be extra. I will need full payment at the time of order.
There is NOTHING on the market that has the features of this loop box. Loop-master's stuff is great, but they don't build anything that handles effects loops like this. Even if you just want six on/off loops without the blend controls, theirs costs WAY more than mine.
