Whoa I'm half deaf... (new TAD tubes came today)

Wow... Just go a set from TAD.
A "7025 Highgrade" for V1 and two Chinese 12AX7... great stuff... I basically replaced the crappy Marshall stock tubes which were starting to cause problems...
Played for about 2 hours at really cranked volumes now... thank god my neighbor is musician himself...
Great sounding new set... made my cleans somehow more chimey, and the OD tighter and a tad sweeter. (no pun intended) Especially the really high gain sounds are better now because of the tighter low end. All in all... good buy, and good support at TAD finding the right tubes for me.

I've compared the GT12AX7C and the highgrade 7025 in V1 and think the Chinese is
fatter ...
you said the 7025 is like the 12AX7C, where did you get this from??

its the same type

7025/ecc83/12ax7c are the same type of tube

7025/ECC83/12AX7 are compatible yeah.. but this doesn't mean they sound the same...

12AX7C are the Chinese ... it often refers to the Shugang 9th Generation which is a great high gain tube and used by GT for example

7025 are often brighter afaik

I honestly haven't A/Bd them, but I don't think it's too bright in any way... actually even the opposite,it took some harshness off and made the upper frets sweeter. Whatever it is, it's nice and I like it.

I can't find something that the 7025 is like the chinese 12ax7 on the TAD webpage ...

I found the Chinese had a bit more punchy mids while the 7025 as a bit flatter more hifi but the difference was subtle

Wait, I'll do a search on that...

Edit: ok... can't find it right now. But I can remember the description being like "Klanglich wie RT001, aber etwas feiner aufgelöst", or so ähnlich. Maybe it was in the downloadable catalouge? But I actually have that thing printed and it doesn't say it there... hmm... whatev... I'm too tired right now...
