IIRC Gibson sold off the last of the British stock with the Gibson logo on it shortly after acquisition and then moved operations to the U.S.
Why they no longer make the Goldtones is beyond me.

Discontinuing the Goldtone line still boggles my mind. Those amps actually sound like they were designed to sound perfect with Gibsons. If you want one, you'd better act quick, because they're rising in price now that they're discontinued.
I noticed that there's some new Gibson amps, but they appear to be handwired and very expensive. I don't know who's making those. The appeal of the original Goldtones is that they sound like vintage amps, but have modern features like FX loop, boost, bright switch, and Vin 30's.
The new ones probably sound great, but who can afford them?

I've owned two of the Velocettes, the 1 x 10 without reverb and the 1 x 12 with reverb. I sold the one without reverb about a year ago. Great amps, both of them, but I liked the one with reverb better due to the pentode/triode switch and, of course, reverb.

Depends on the model. I know a recently introduced amp was made by Soldano but I believe that they were only doing that one model.
