Why is my G string so loud?

i've got a new mexi-strat. i have a Dimarzio HS3 at the neck in single coil mode, and a Fender American Strat pickup in the middle, stock at bridge(for now).

the pickups all have staggered pole pieces. my G string is a little too loud. i have raised the bridge saddle, but it didn't really help. i think my neck radius is 9.5". would flat pole piece pickups be better?

Re: Why is my G string so loud?

You will need to use flats. The reason for this is that most staggered strat pickups are made to ape the vintage pickups, which were made for players who used wound G's (only thing available) which are quieter than plain G's.

Women's underwear??

You mean you guys don't wear them? Am I the only one??!!

I've heard that staggered poles can make the G and D strings jump out a little
